Monica Woods, Myla Edmond, and Jenny Pettit
Monica joined UIndy in 1998. She earned a Bachelor of Science majoring in Journalism, as well as a Masters of Arts majoring in Public Relations, from Ball State University. She earned a Certificate in Organization Management from the University of Arizona at Tucson and a Certificate from the Indiana University School of Philanthropy. She is a Certified Meeting Professional, a designation she earned through the Convention Industry Council. Monica has two children and two cats.
As the Director for Alumni Relations, Monica administers and implements the overall activities, programs, and services provided to UIndy alumni; directs the activities of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and subcommittees and the Student Alumni Association; and provides leadership to the operational, budgetary, and personnel aspects of Office of Alumni Relations. As a member of the University Advancement team, Monica works with UIndy administration to further the University's strategic initiatives.
Myla earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Marketing and Psychology from Western Michigan University. She joined UIndy in 2007 after being employed with the United States Justice Department and California State University, Dominguez Hills, University Advancement. Myla is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in English at UIndy. As the Assistant Director for Alumni Relations, Myla creates the Office of Alumni Relations’ communication pieces, which include the production and distribution of electronic communications like the UIndy monthly E-Newsletters. Myla also maintains the alumni Web site and manages UIndy’s online alumni community, Alumni Central. Myla serves as the adviser to the Student Alumni Association and is the liaison between the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association Board of Directors’ Communications subcommittee.
Jenny is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at UIndy. She plans to continue her education by earning an MBA, also from UIndy, following her undergraduate studies. Jenny joined the Office of Alumni Relations in June 2007. She enjoys watching sports, especially basketball and New York Yankee baseball. As the Administrative Assistant for Alumni Relations, Jenny coordinates alumni events, works closely with University Accounting and the Institutional Advancement gift coordinator to process transactions, assists with the volunteer board and related subcommittees, reconciles finances, and performs data mining.
The Office of Alumni Relations is located on the first floor of the Richard E. Stierwalt Alumni House in the Joanne Sease Alumni Suite. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Visitor parking is located in the adjacent lot and on the neighborhood streets. Campus map
