Student Alumni Association

What We Do

The Student Alumni Association (SAA) is a student-run organization that provides events and programming for the campus as a whole, as well as for its members.

Members of SAA work closely with the Alumni Association to become better acquainted with alumni in and out of their chosen fields. The goal of SAA is to make students aware that graduation does not end their relationship with the University of Indianapolis. A student's time on campus is just the beginning of a lifelong association with his/her alma mater. Their theme is "Start Your Future Early With Us."

• Finals Week Dessert Diversion (December)
• Dinner with 10 Greyhounds (spring, alumni/student networking dinners)
• Senior Salute (off-campus dinner in April honoring the graduating class)
• Senior Class Gift scholarship project
• Service project with alumni.
• The Harvey M. Showalter Future Alumni Award—presented to one outstanding senior student annually in the spring.
• Ambassadors at alumni and other fundraising events.
• Liaison to the Alumni Association Board of Directors—the SAA president is a non-voting member of the Alumni Association

SAA is a member of the national Student Alumni Association/Student Foundation Network sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Active members have the opportunity to attend state, district, and national conferences that feature workshops on student issues, leadership development, fundraising, and special events. Social events provide opportunities to meet and share ideas with students from around the country.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Student Alumni Association is to enhance student involvement in the University's mission; to facilitate an active relationship between students and alumni; and to cultivate future alumni involvement through special events, community service, and social activities.

Membership Requirements

Membership in the Student Alumni Association is open to all students at the University of Indianapolis. Members are required to attend organizational meetings, and to help at one alumni event each semester.
