The University of Indianapolis Alumni Association Honors and Recognition
Committee seeks nominees for these annually presented awards. If

Deadline for annual consideration is February 1st.
Honorary Alumni Award
Purpose: To recognize and honor those individuals who,
although not graduates of the University of Indianapolis, have clearly
demonstrated their commitment to the University over a significant
period of time.
Criteria: The individual(s) must have demonstrated a sincere
interest and dedication to the university and have served or been
involved with the institution in a continuing and significant manner. Nominate Now
Distinguished Alumni
Award
Purpose: To recognize outstanding professional accomplishments
or long standing devoted service in a chosen occupation or profession.
The level of accomplishment or service must clearly distinguish
the alumnus/alumna among his or her peers.
Criteria: The individual must have rendered service to others
in such a direct and profound manner as to have materially improved
the quality of life for others over a significant period of time
or achieved and sustained a significant regional or national reputation
for accomplishments and service in a particular profession. Nominate Now
Distinguished Young Alumni
Award
Purpose: To recognize and honor an alumnus and/or alumna
of the University who, while still relatively young, has made outstanding
contributions to his or her community.
Criteria: Nominees for this award shall be graduates of the University,
be 35 years of age or younger, demonstrate commitment to the University's
mission of "Education for Service," be outstanding in
their profession, and/or have made outstanding contributions to

Distinguished
Faculty/Staff Alumni Award
Purpose: To recognize current faculty or staff who are
alumni and who have demonstrated consistent dedication and superior
service at the University.
Criteria: Award nominees must be University
of Indianapolis alumni currently employed as either faculty or staff--full-time,
part-time, or adjunct. They must demonstrate a commitment to the
University's mission, "Education for Service," and show a record of outstanding
contributions to their profession. These contributions may or may
not have come during their University tenure but must reflect highly on the University.
This award is to be given annually and can only be received once
per person. Deans and Department Chairs are to provide nominees
of distinguished alumni faculty or staff. The Honors and Recognition
Committee of the Alumni Association will select the recipient. The
award will be presented at the Faculty/Staff Alumni luncheon held in the Spring. Nominate Now
Gene and Joanne Sease Award
Purpose: Gene and Joanne Sease have exemplified the type
of commitment, as a couple, to the University of Indianapolis that
the Alumni Association wants to honor and recognize annually. Over a significant period of time, the Seases, and others like
them, have given the University gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
The Association has established this award to recognize these contributions.
Criteria: To be a recipient of this award, at least one
person in the couple must be a graduate of the University of Indianapolis, with
the spouse being a strong supporter of this institution in a significant
and continuing manner as outlined above. Nominate Now
Harvey M. Showalter Future
Alumni Award
Purpose: To recognize one graduating student who embodies
the spirit of the late Harvey M. Showalter '41. Throughout his
life, Harvey M. Showalter lived the University's motto "Education for Service" in serving
the University both as a student and an alumnus and in serving the
community in many forms of volunteer leadership.
Criteria: Students nominated for this award should be in
good academic standing and eligible to participate in the upcoming commencement.
Further qualifications include status as an undergraduate or a graduate student; a GPA of 3.0
or higher; leadership in at least two or more co-curricular
activities; and actions that embody the Harvey M. Showalter's legacy of service
to his alma mater as an active volunteer and leader.
Students may be nominated by University faculty, staff members,
alumnus/a, or fellow students. This award winner will be selected
by the Alumni Association Board of Directors and presented at Senior Salute. Nominate Now
Certificates of Appreciation
Purpose: To recognize alumni or others who have given outstanding
service to the Alumni Association in the areas of alumni, admissions,
or fundraising, or through other significant involvement as a University
